Pomi — Privacy Policy

Effective 11 August 2026

Short version: Pomi is a local-first Pomodoro timer. Your focus sessions, statistics, tags, reminders, and settings stay on your device. Pomi has no account system, cloud sync, or backend, so we do not receive or view that data. The free version uses Google to provide non-personalised ads, and purchases are handled by the app store and RevenueCat.

This policy explains how the Pomi mobile app (“Pomi”, “the app”), made by Alper Efe Sahin (“we”, “us”), handles information.

1. Information stored only on your device

Pomi stores the information you create in local Hive databases on your device. This includes timer state and settings, completed focus and break sessions, statistics and streaks derived from those sessions, focus tags, appearance and language choices, daily goals, and other app preferences. There is no Pomi account, sign-in, backend, or cloud sync. This information is not sent to us, and we cannot access it.

2. Reminders and local notifications

When you create a reminder, Pomi stores its time, selected weekdays, enabled status, associated focus tag (if any), and any custom notification title or message on your device. Pomi asks the operating system to schedule the notification locally. Reminder content is not sent to us or to a Pomi server.

Notification permission is optional. If you deny it, or later revoke it in system settings, your saved reminders remain on the device but the operating system will not deliver them. You can change notification permission in your device settings. On supported Android versions, the timing of a reminder may also depend on the system’s exact-alarm and battery settings.

3. Advertising (Google Mobile Ads)

The free version shows banner and occasional interstitial ads supplied by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Pomi requests non-personalised ads for every user. Pomi does not request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Google may still process information needed to provide, secure, limit, and measure non-personalised ads, such as your IP address (which can indicate approximate location), device or advertising identifiers where available, ad interactions, and diagnostic information. This third-party processing is separate from the focus data that stays in Pomi.

4. Pomi Pro purchases (Apple, Google, and RevenueCat)

Pomi Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed by Apple’s App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android. We use RevenueCat to retrieve the offer, validate the transaction, restore purchases, and keep the Pro entitlement active. Production users are not asked to sign in: RevenueCat assigns an anonymous app user ID and receives purchase, transaction, receipt, and entitlement information needed to provide this service. Pomi disables RevenueCat’s automatic device-identifier collection.

Pomi never receives or stores your card number, bank details, or other payment credentials. Those are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy, Apple Privacy Policy, and Google Privacy Policy.

5. Data summary

In this table, “collected” means transmitted off your device. Local Pomi data is stored by the app but is not collected by us.

6. What we do not do

7. Children

Pomi is a general-audience productivity app. It is not directed to children and is not offered in the App Store’s Kids category. The free version contains third-party advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has contacted us with personal information may use the address below to ask us to delete it.

8. Your choices, rights, and deletion

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to appeal or complain to a data protection authority. Because Pomi’s own user data stays on your device and has no account linked to it, we normally have no Pomi-held record to locate or delete. You may contact us to exercise a right concerning information we control. For information controlled by Google, Apple, or RevenueCat, contact that provider using the privacy links above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or its providers change. We will publish the revised policy here and change the effective date.

Change log: 11 August 2026 — Updated for Pomi 1.0; added local reminders and notifications, clarified non-personalised advertising and UMP, covered both Apple and Google Play purchases, and added the data-summary and user-rights sections.
